What Awaits Participants of the HSE St Petersburg Summer School 2023
From July 3 to August 11, 2023, HSE University-St Petersburg will hold its traditional Summer School, which offers participants various courses in four fields of study. International and Russian students will get a chance not only to gain new knowledge and ECTS credits, but also to enjoy the unforgettable atmosphere of summer in St Petersburg. ‘Football Brings People Together’: HSE University Holds Mini-Football Tournament for International Students
Six men’s teams and two women’s teams made up of international students from 30 countries took part in the first ever HSE Inter Football Cup. The event was organised by the Support and Career Centre for International Students and Alumni, the Department of Internationalisation, and the Department of Physical Training.

Telling Stories 2023: Faculty of Creative Industries Festival Held at HSE University
On May 27 and 28, the Telling Stories festival was held at HSE University on Pokrovsky Bulvar. The event, launched six years ago at HSE University’s Faculty of Creative Industries, consistently attracts leading experts from the fields of new media, digital industry, cinema, marketing and communications, art, design and fashion. This year’s programme included lectures, interviews, performances, workshops, screenings, and discussions on topics relevant to the creative community.
Students of HSE University-Perm Perform at 31st Russian Student Spring Festival
Members of the KNIVE vocal ensemble and the HSE Crew dance studio represented HSE University at the opening ceremony and the festival town, while students Polina Subbotina and Yulia Mukharamova were included in the Perm Krai delegation that won the festival’s main prize in the team scoring.

Russian Researchers Discover New Approach to Combatting Osteoarthritis
A team of researchers from HSE University, the Russian Academy of Sciences Zelinsky Institute of Organic Chemistry, and Molecular Technologies, LLC have jointly proposed a new treatment for osteoarthritis. This is currently the first disease-modifying osteoarthritis drug to act simultaneously on bone and cartilage tissue metabolism and on inflammation. The study findings are published in Scientific Reports.
Married Men Less Prone to Workplace Burnout
Greater marital satisfaction lowers the risk of professional burnout, with this correlation being more pronounced among men than women. This is a conclusion made by HSE psychologists after conducting a study on the effect of social interactions on workplace burnout on a sample of 203 employees from several Russian companies. According to the researchers, gaining a better understanding of the specific aspects of burnout experienced by individuals makes it possible to address this syndrome more effectively. The paper has been published in Organizational Psychology.
