More than 4,000 students from Russia and 22 other countries, including the UK, Germany, France, Canada, China, Belarus, and Peru, took part.

HSE Scientists Develop Application for Diagnosing Aphasia
Specialists at the HSE Centre for Language and Brain have developed an application for diagnosing language disorders (aphasia), which can result from head injuries, strokes, or other neurological conditions. AutoRAT is the first standardised digital tool in Russia for assessing the presence and severity of language disorders. The application is available on RuStore and can be used on mobile and tablet devices running the Android operating system.

Russian Physicists Discover Method to Increase Number of Atoms in Quantum Sensors
Physicists from the Institute of Spectroscopy of the Russian Academy of Sciences and HSE University have successfully trapped rubidium-87 atoms for over four seconds. Their method can help improve the accuracy of quantum sensors, where both the number of trapped atoms and the trapping time are crucial. Such quantum systems are used to study dark matter, refine navigation systems, and aid in mineral exploration. The study findings have been published in the Journal of Experimental and Theoretical Physics Letters.

CIBA 2025: Anniversary Conference about Art and Business
On March 16, the New Stage of the Alexandrinsky Theatre will hold the fifth CIBA—an annual educational conference devoted to creative industries. The event is organised by curators and students of HSE University-St Petersburg together with representatives of the New Stage. This year's topic is trend watching, as symbolised by Tetris—reflecting the need to adapt quickly and think ahead in the industry. Entry to the event is free, but advance registration is required.

HSE University-St Petersburg to Open New ‘International Relations’ Track in ‘Political Science and World Politics’ Programme

First 30 Expeditions of 4th Season of ‘Rediscovering Russia’ Project Selected
The selection process for the inter-university student expedition programme ‘Rediscovering Russia’ has concluded. The programme is implemented by HSE University in collaboration with the presidential platform ‘Russia —Land of Opportunity’ and Rosmolodezh’s programme ‘More Than a Trip,’ with support from the Russian Geographical Society. The expert council has approved the first 30 expeditions, with 12 universities and 18 organisations among the winners. These expeditions will take place from April to November 2025, covering 23 regions across the country.
